Preaching to the choir here (joke intended, lol). I'm always amused (and, frankly, saddened), when non-christians have a better understanding of Jesus' actual words than the people who call themelves christians.
I had a debate with my oldest stepson in which I (the non-christian) pointed out to him that Jesus himself never said anything against gays, so as a christian, who presumably is supposed to be Christ-like, the LEAST he can do is keep his mouth shut about gays, too.
I was raised a Southern Baptist and first got disillusioned with organized religion after the preacher of my childhood church (where I was a faithful attendee up to age 15) told me that Jesus was against mixing the races and I was going to hell for dating a Black guy.
