Snow day!

My kids' public school is closed.
My eldest daughter's private school is closed.
The private college for which I work is closed.

We are happy, happy campers, here. The dog demanded some quality outside time, for which the fenced-in yard came in very handy. The moms slept in, which is always a good thing. The kids have been playing inside and outside, also a good thing.

We have blown away in passing the previous high-snow mark for this date in Milwaukee, and are approahing the previous high-snow mark for this month in southeast Wisconsin, which is arousing my competitive spirit. Also, we had thundersnow, a rare occurance, which make me punch the air and go yess!

Snow day! Friday! First my kids have ever ever had! And I didn't have to drive in it!

That sounds wonderful!

And it's the same here. I can hear my daughter outside laughing as she plays in the snow with two other neighborhood girls her age. It was an amazing storm. And beautiful. Our snow set records, too! *g*

Of course, I promptly went out in it this morning myself, slipped, fell, and twisted the crud out of my left ankle and had to limp home. *laughs at self* Grace, I'm not. I'm equally grateful not to be driving in it!

We had thundersnow too. Awesome.

Oh, be very careful! I twisted hell out of my knee five years ago, and I still feel it sometimes!

The kids are inside playing cards right now; I made them hot chocolate, and forced them to take a break. When they're good and ready, they'll agitate for outside again. (They kept telling me they didn't need a break, but TYD was shaking and weeping with the cold.)
