... and
sahiya gives us a perfect little jewel of a story about it in "A Covert Affair" - not, as one might think, about Temeraire and Lawrence, but instead about Bujold's Byerly Vorrutyer and Ivan Vorpatril.
Guess which one's still in the closet?
Guess whose relative offers him violence should he hurt his beloved?
And guess which relative he chooses to do his first Coming Out to?
Guy-safe, but wholly accurate in terms of the complex of feeling one goes through that first time. Go read.

Date: 2008-02-22 03:50 am (UTC)on one of my flister's posts and tracked it back to you. I was wondering if I could snag the idea and use it on several other fandoms, like SG-1 and Torchwood and what not. It's just such a brilliant idea, and it's literally how I got into all my fandoms.
Side note: I looked up Boris Vallejo from your other user icons (I'm not stalking I swear! I just really liked your icon and wanted to make sure I credited you/asked permission properly >.< ) and found that he did the cover art for one of my favourite books of all time. Thanks for that tip, however indirect.
Hope I'm not imposing by being totally random and obnoxious. :/ Sorry and thanks in advance for your time.
