1. Can you cook? It's not a matter of can't but, rather, won't.
2. What was your dream growing up? I didn't have one; I was too busy trying to keep myself together day by day.
3. What talent do you wish you had? I wish I could speak a second language. Despite several efforts, I'm stubbornly monolingual.
4. Favorite place? The Grand Staircase in the U.S. Southwest.
5. Favorite vegetable? Artichokes tie with spinach ftw!
6. What was the last book you read? I just re-read Bujold's Curse of Chalion for a fan fiction I'm starting.
7. What zodiac sign are you ? Taurus sun, Aquarius ascending, Cancer moon, but I don't believe in astrology. *g*
8. Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Two with a third about to be done. I get a tattoo for each anniversary divisible by five.
9. Worst Habit? Putting things off when I'm nervous. This can make me behave very badly socially when I'm feeling shy.
10. Do we know each other outside of lj? Nope.
11. What is your favorite sport? Ice dancing, and yes, it is too a sport.
12. Negative or Optimistic attitude? Pessimist, although I don't think of that as negative.
13. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me? Talk fan fiction, probably with an arm-waving description of some WIP that's stuck.
14. Worst thing to ever happen to you? Something a bit too vile to mention in someone else's LJ.
15. Tell me one weird fact about you: Umm. I honestly can't think of one. Oh, wait: my parents swear up and down I was reading at two.
16. Do you have any pets? Not at the moment. Our cat recently died.
17. Do you know how to do the macarena? I won't dance; don't ask me.
18. What time is it where you are now? Midnight! Or at least it was when I started poking at this intermittently while writing.
19. Do you think clowns are cute or scary? Neither. I think they're thought-provoking and loaded with cultural associations.
20. If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be? I'd take off some weight, not because I care about the looks but for the sake of my health.
21. Would you be my crime partner or my conscience? Both, really. Rebellion for its own sake is boring and stupid, so crimes should have moral weight.
22. What color eyes do you have? Brown.
23. Ever been arrested? Nope, although I have once or twice not been arrested. Seemingly, I radiate innocence in, er, complex situations.
24. Bottle or Draft? Either, as long as alcohol isn't involved.
25. If you won $10,000 dollars today, what would you do with it? Pay the taxes and then dump all of the rest on charity except for enough to have a good meal with my spouse.
26. What kind of bubble gum do you prefer to chew? I hate bubble gum. I like mint 'n' berry normal gum, though.
27. What's your favorite bar to hang at? These days, I'd prefer a cafe or coffee house.
28. Do you believe in ghosts? Nope, but they're sure fun to write.
29. Favorite thing to do in your spare time? Well, my spouse reading out loud to me is a special treat, and one that I can discuss on LJ. *g*

Thank you! And my wife says "Where are the rest of the Ash and Iron stories, boo hoo!?!?" Which, me, I'm more going - any new fic? I've paid for it before, I'll do it again.

Well, I signed up for two stories in the LBGT ficathon run by Penknife & co. One's going to be a new Nero Wolfe and one will be a Bujold Chalion universe fan fiction. Then I'm going to do some WIP work - I hope including Ash and Iron - and then I may be writing a western for Torquere, and another YA novel for Prizm, and doing more WIP work, and by then it will probably be time for yuletide. Also, I need to update my site at some point, which hasn't happened in way too long. (Phew!)

Mind you, looking ahead like this is begging for trouble, but I'm willing to try for a request. *g*

I think everything I turned into Torquere is out except for "The Empress," which should be issued in the next couple of months.
